"Drop any preconceptions you've had about recording songs on your phone."
Noah Georgeson

MultiPhone, MultiTrack Recording

The essential collaboration tool for bands, Daisychain, is a multiphone, multitrack recording app. It lets bands connect up to four iPhones or iPads and record multiple tracks in sync - quickly and easily.

In a rehearsal space or at a live performance, one user (the Host) can start a "chain" linking iPhones or iPads through the Daisychain app. Next, they simply place their devices in the areas where they’d normally place a traditional mic. Each user can check their levels, access the advanced mic features, or plug an external mic into their phone. When the Host Device hits “Record”, Daisychain does the rest - catching every sound in the room, from the drummer’s hi-hat taps to the singer’s whispers, keeping all devices recording in sync. When the Host stops and saves the recording, a mixer screen will open where the files from the chained devices will have transferred.

And that’s it. Without any hassle or waiting, Daisychain users can play their song back in a full, articulate form - with every part as audible and honest as it was during their performance. The host device can then use the app’s postproduction features to adjust levels, add compression, EQ, pan, and effects like reverb & delay.

The Most Collaborative 4 Track, Ever

In addition to live multiphone, multitrack recording, Daisychain Recorder is also amazing for solo multitrack recording.  You can record with just one device, overdub additional tracks and send your project to anyone you want to collaborate with - whether they're across the globe or across the hall.  They can open your song, add their own tracks and send it back.  Keep the tracks you like, delete the ones you don't.  Then repeat, until you've finished your masterpiece. You can export the individual tracks and drop them into your favorite DAW (e.g. Garageband, Logic, ProTools, etc.) for even more flexibility.

  • Record audio as 96k or 192k MP4s, or Apple Lossless 16 bit audio.
  • Import Daisychain projects from your collaborators.
  • Even if they don't use Daisychain, most common audio files, like MP3, MP4 (AAC or Apple Lossless), AIFF or WAV, can be imported.
  • Choose one of the three mics available on the iPhone or plug in an external mic into the Lightning connector.
  • Bouncing: Seriously, when was the last time you bounced?
  • Cloning: Easily clone your project so you can delete tracks you want another crack at and keep the original safe as a separate project. It's like "save as" but cloning sounds way cooler.
